Learn how to boost your success at Art Markets!
This workshop will cover the steps in preparing for an art market. Alison will share strategies for booth display, marketing, pricing, and engaging your audience. Whether you’re a seasoned artist or just starting out, this workshop is great for anyone looking to grow their audience and boost sales.
What you’ll learn:
- Considerations in choosing what markets to apply for
- How to prepare, marketing and promotion, booth supplies, and preparing your work
- What to take with you
- How to set up your booth/table
- Engaging your audience, making sales and networking with other vendors
- Making the most of a market with low attendance
- Tips for after the market
About the instructor:
Alison holds a BFA from the University of Regina and an MFA in Printmaking from Louisiana State University. Originally from the South Saskatchewan prairies, she currently lives in Calgary. She is involved in the art community, exhibiting her work, coordinating community exhibitions and events, teaching and volunteering. Her work has been exhibited in Canada, the United States, Europe and Australia.

Workshop Fee
$45 per person.
*This event requires an A/P membership and is geared toward folks who would like to submit work to A/P’s upcoming Summer Print Market. Annual memberships are $30 and $10 for current students and current recipients of AISH. Membership fees can be applied directly to your workshop registration.
This workshop includes all project supplies, students are recommended to:
- Arrive no more than 10 minutes before class.
- Park in the stalls located in front of A/P or use free street parking.
- Bring a snack and water bottle.
- Bring a notebook/sketchbook and pen.
- Bring reading glasses if you need them for fine work.

Cancellation Policy:
If you have registered for an in-studio class or workshop at A/P but are unable to attend, we require that you notify us as soon as possible, and no later than 7 days before the class or workshop to receive a full refund. Registrants who cancel with 6 days or less notice will receive 50% of their registration fee. Once the class or workshop has begun, A/P is unable to issue a refund as we are subject to a minimum enrolment in order to run.
If A/P cancels a course due to low enrolment, notice will be given at least 72 hours in advance with a full refund issued. For classes cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, registrants will receive a full refund.
