All is Bright: Cyanotype Night

Create a gift or keep it for yourself! Come design and expose your own beautiful cyanotype prints!

Cyanotype is a photography method that involves laying an objects, drawings, or photo negatives on a surface coated with a solution of iron salts before exposing it to UV light and washing with water to create stunning white and Prussian blue images. With the help of AP staff, we will direct how you can use your own drawings, photographs, or small, soft, objects to create images on paper with the best results. You will participate in all the steps and will leave with two 4×5″ prints!

No Experience Needed!!!

 

What’s included with your registration:
  • A directed session on what a cyanotype is and how it works
  • Using either drawing, a photograph, or potentially small, soft materials to expose
  • All participants with receive two, 4×5″ cyanotype sheets to expose
  • SNACKS!

Event Registration Fee

$45.00 for a single participant

This event includes all project supplies, participants are recommended to prepare:
  • Image ideas with using either drawing, or a photograph, or small, soft objects
  • Park in the stalls located in front of A/P or use free street parking.
  • Bring reading glasses if you need them for fine work.
  • Wear suitable clothing for working with ink and/or a work apron.
  • Wear close toed shoes and avoid overly loose long sleeves.
  • Tie back long hair when operating machinery.
  • Personal PPE (if uncomfortable with Shared Studio PPE)

 

Additional Notes:
  • Event limited to 12 Participants
  • This event is open to children ages 12 and up. All participants under 18 years of age must be accompanied by either a parent or guardian who is also registered.

To support an environment which promotes dignity and respect to all, no form of intimidation, bullying or harassment will be tolerated. Should this type of behaviour occur, the A/P host and/or instructor reserves the right to remove any individuals from the workshop.

Cancellation Policy:

If you have registered for an in-studio class or workshop at A/P but are unable to attend, we require that you notify us as soon as possible, and no later than 7 days before the class or workshop to receive a full refund. Registrants who cancel with 6 days or less notice will receive 50% of their registration fee. Once the class or workshop has begun, A/P is unable to issue a refund as we are subject to a minimum enrolment in order to run.

If A/P cancels a course due to low enrolment, notice will be given at least 72 hours in advance with a full refund issued. For classes cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, registrants will receive a full refund.
