About Print(ed) Word
In 2017, A/P and Loft 112, an artistic hub for writers and creatives to connect, received funding support from Canada Council for the Arts to initiate Print(ed) Word – an interdisciplinary project that explored book-inspired relationships including art from text, artist with writer, and art book with reader/viewer.
The result was a collaboration between 12 printmakers and 12 writers, each paired to create a collaborative handmade artist book inspired from an existing text. The public support, dissemination, and celebration of this collaborative project continues.
The full collection of Print(ed) Word artist books were permanently installed in Calgary’s landmark Central Library in November 2018, which was followed by a series of public artists talks throughout 2019 and the development of a mini-documentary series that was publicly released in 2020. Click on each of the artist books listed below to view each mini-documentary.
