Print(ed) Word is a collection of artist books that were created through pairing 12 local writers with 12 local print-artists who collaborated in reimagining existing texts into hand-made book forms. 

This project was led by A/P and Loft 112 with funding support from Canada Council for the Arts. The permanent installation in Calgary's Central Library was made possible through the support of Calgary Public Library, Calgary Public Library Foundation, and the J K L MacLachlan Family Foundation.

CMYK Colour Photolithography

COURSE SUMMARY:
Want to learn how to print colour photographs?

CMYK photolithography involves using four plates to make prints in colour. Made with oil based ink, it makes for a wonderful process to be combined with other traditional printmaking methods.

This course will cover how to print colour photographs using photolithography plates and a
traditional lithography press. Participants will learn how to digitally separate and prepare an
image to be printed on a transparency for exposure, how to modify ink and and how to register for multiple plates. This course is suitable for anyone with prior photolithography
experience or has taken “Photolithography Basics” in the past.

Please Note: This is a single night of instruction. Participants will learn from a demo image provided.

Make Your Mark with Drypoint & Monotype

COURSE SUMMARY:
This workshop is an introduction to drypoint combined with monotype techniques. Learn to make visually engaging, colourful prints using a variety of mark-making methods. You can develop fine detail merged with painterly, expressive strokes to create variations of prints!

This 3-evening workshop will cover prepping a plate, image development, drypoint methods, creating a registration sheet, prepping your paper, setting a press, and printing on a press. The learning in the workshop will take place through technical demonstrations and hands-on experience
