DATE: May 20 & 27
TIME: 6pm - 9pm
INSTRUCTOR: Tracy Wormsbecker
About the workshop:
Are you interested in printmaking techniques that use photo-processes and stencils, but want to branch away from digital image-making?
This workshop will get you creating stencils with your hands, and thinking about image-development for your photolitho/silkscreen/cyanotype practice in a new, tactile way.
So come prepared to say goodbye to half-tones and endless photoshop editing. Instead, you’ll learn to use hands-on methods to translate textures, drawings, and other materials into intricate printmaking imagery.
With demonstrations and guidance from the instructor, participants will spend the first week experimenting with a range of techniques, and the second week diving deeper into their preferred methods to create their own stencils that can be used in upcoming printmaking projects.
Some familiarity with how stencils work in one or more printmaking techniques is recommended but not required.
